‘Fork Handles’ Script Sells For £33,000 At Auction

Some weeks ago we reported that Ronnie Barker’s original handwritten script for the ‘Fork Handles’ sketch was going under the hammer at East Bristol Auctions in Bristol.

The auction, held on June 1st, also included a pair of Ronnie Barker’s Character spectacles, and the ‘No.1’ limited edition ‘Fork Handles’ lithograph made by The Original Memorabilia Company.

The script itself carried an estimate of £25,000-£40,000 and sold for a buyers-premium-inclusive £33,000.

The spectacles sold for a premium inclusive £1,100

The Limited Edition lithograph was sold for a total of £600 (also premium inclusive).

Altogether, the collection sold for £34,700. This is the second time the collection has been sold at auction, the first time back in 2006 when it fetched £48,500.

We will be running an in-depth view into the script at a later date, so watch this space!
